Five Angels turns your smartphone into a personal safety device connected to five people you trust. Real-time location, video, audio, instant alert. No extra hardware, no monitoring-centre subscription.
No commitment. Available on iOS and Android. Alert Mode stays free for life.
An employee working alone is covered by their employer's duty of care. In many sectors that means a lone-worker alarm device, paid for by the company and linked to a monitoring centre.
A self-employed professional has no employer, and therefore falls outside all of those schemes. Yet they visit the same empty flats, work in the same apartments at night, and walk back at the same hour to the same car parked too far away.
The gap is not a gap in risk. It is a gap in cover.
Five Angels closes that gap with what is already in your pocket.
You walk alone into a place where you control neither the access, nor the exit, nor the people inside. An empty flat, a basement, an unknown home, a locked commercial unit. Nobody knows exactly where you are, or how long you are meant to stay.
Your client, prospect or visitor is someone you have never met, whose identity nobody has verified, and who contacted you through a listing or a form. The appointment takes place with no witness.
A contested invoice, a rejected quote, a cash payment, a valuable item in transit, a decision you have to deliver. A significant share of workplace assaults happens not during the job itself, but at the moment of invoicing or of leaving.
Five Angels' Alert Mode is free, and it will stay free. One gesture sends your location, video and audio to your five guardian angels, with direct access to the emergency services.
It rests on one condition: that you can take out your phone and trigger it.
In a real assault, that is the first ability you lose. The phone is in a pocket, in a bag, on a table, already snatched away. The seconds that matter are precisely the ones in which you can trigger nothing.
You switch it on beforehand, when you know the situation is sensitive: before entering the flat, before getting into the car, before the 9 pm appointment. From then on, the app works without you:
You set the length of the watch when you start it: 1, 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes. When it expires, the app asks a single question - “I am safe”. Confirm and the session stops. Fail to answer within 60 seconds and the alert goes out on its own, even if the app has been closed in the meantime. For a longer job, you start a new watch before each sensitive moment: entering the flat, going down to the cellar, taking payment, walking back to the car.
You work as usual, your client sees nothing, your family receives nothing. Until the moment it becomes necessary. No sound, no notification sent to anyone: on Android, the operating system merely requires a “protection active” notification on your own screen, visible to you alone.
The free version protects you while you are still able to ask for help. The premium version protects you once you no longer are.
A professional lone-worker device is typically rented for several tens of euros per month per person, hardware and monitoring-centre subscription included. That model is designed for companies equipping dozens of employees under a legal obligation, not for a single freelancer.
Five Angels relies on the smartphone you already own and on five people who care about you. There is no box to buy, no installation, no monitoring contract.
A single appointment cancelled because it did not feel right costs more than twelve months of subscription. Prevention Mode lets you go.
The occupations below share one characteristic: they expose one person, working alone and without an employer, to an unidentified third party, in a space they do not control. They are listed from the most immediate exposure to the most discreet.

Last viewing of the day, 7.30 pm, empty flat on the fourth floor, prospect arrived alone, no other occupied flat on the landing.
You open a door with nobody behind it, alongside someone you do not know, and you close that door behind you. That is the very definition of the job, and it is also the most dangerous configuration a self-employed professional can face.

Third appointment of the evening, house on the outskirts, the client lets you in, closes the door, and their partner is against the sale.
You enter strangers' homes, often in the evening, often alone, carrying stock, a card reader or a contract to sign. The appointment came from a phone call or a listing, with no identity check whatsoever.

Booking made through a platform, ground-floor address, the client asked for a 9 pm slot and insists you stay longer.
Your service involves physical contact, extended privacy and clients recruited online. Inappropriate advances and bad-faith bookings are a documented reality of the sector, particularly for massage and wellbeing practitioners.

Door opened at 2 am, the client disputes the night rate quoted on the phone, refuses to pay and stands between you and the stairs.
You work under time pressure, often at night, for people you meet on the spot, and you finish with the tensest part of the relationship: the invoice. Billing disputes and payment generate a significant share of the sector's assaults.

A partner, a business associate, a colleague from your network, a neighbour, a parent. They install the app for free and need no subscription to receive your alerts.
You pick the length of the watch, up to 15 minutes, then you put your phone away. The app goes into silent watch and records audio sequences of about fifteen seconds sent to a secure server.
It analyses the sound environment and looks for signs of conflict, screams and calls for help. As long as nothing is detected, nobody is disturbed. At the end of the chosen duration, you are asked one question: “Are you safe?”
Your five guardian angels receive the alert, your real-time GPS location and the video and audio sequences. They can coordinate with each other, call you, come to you, or contact the emergency services. From the app you can also call the emergency number directly or send an emergency SMS.
Video and audio sequences are stored on a secure server, under the conditions and for the periods described in our privacy policy. They remain available for a police report, an insurance claim or legal proceedings. An incident that was not recorded comes down to your word against theirs. Privacy policy.
Three clarifications, because a safety app that leaves any doubt about its scope is a dangerous one.
If you employ lone workers, your legal duty of protection remains entirely yours and Five Angels does not discharge it. The app is about your own personal safety, not your compliance as an employer.
Prevention Mode is based on analysing the sound environment. It detects an assault, a conflict, a call for help. It does not detect a fall from height, a construction site accident or a medical emergency. Occupations whose main risk is physical accident need a device designed for that.
Your guardian angels are people close to you, not a 24/7 monitoring centre under a duty to respond. They may not be available. Direct access to the emergency services stays built into the app for exactly that reason.
You know which one. The late slot, the address you do not know, the client who insisted. You will go, because it is your job. The only variable you can still change is how many people will know where you are.
